Why we ask: knowing whether other organisations use this scheme helps us anticipate additional URI patterns that may need to be considered when their data is submitted to the data space.

Why we ask: we only accept schemes that will be used in the metadata and are relevant for our data ingestion.

Which organisation is responsible for the infrastructure of the PID?(required)

Why we ask: we need to know who governs the scheme to determine whether the PID scheme is reliable and can be safely recognised in the data space.

Please provide a (policy) document that explains the creation, maintenance, resolution and/or dissemination of the PIDs.

Why we ask: even though it is not mandatory at this moment, the absence of such a document makes it difficult to assess the extent to which the principles of the data space policy have been met.

Please provide examples of PIDs that have been minted under this scheme. If you provide a URI other than a web URL (for instance, one that requires a specific resolver service), please also include information on how it can be resolved.(required)

Can the PIDs minted under this scheme have multiple forms (i.e. URI/URL patterns)? If so, please clearly indicate the syntax or pattern for each form, and indicate which form corresponds to the canonical (i.e. preferred or standard) form of the PID.

Why we ask: some PID schemes allow identifiers to appear in multiple forms and define a canonical form for consistency. Knowing all possible forms, and which one is canonical, is important for validation and normalisation that we apply to all PIDs during ingestion.
