Audiences and offer

From MT: “The data space website will support cultural heritage professionals in preparing their data for more widespread reuse. Then, these cultural heritage professionals (intermediaries) will target the reuse audience. The data space website is a B2B website which helps other institutions (businesses) to prepare their data to reach more consumers (B2C).”

Objective

A primary objective of a B2B website is to develop business relationships around a value exchange.

For example, the DS website should offer value to CHI's and member states via resources (expert advice, usable tools), convincing them to offer us CH data in return (such as more 3D content).

Then, our stakeholder research should focus on determining exactly which resources CHI's and member states are interested in, and exactly which tools meet their needs (and are ready to be used).

The content and design of the website should then prioritise converting CHI's and member states by offering clear CTAs, and other conversion-encouraging features (testimonials, expert advice that answers their questions, tools they can use right now - see this article for more ideas) and removing other distractions.

Questions to ask CHIs and member states:

  1. What are their main challenges when it comes to digitising and working with CH data?

    1. In other words, what do they need help with? This is the content/offer we should prioritise.

  2. Expert advice/resources [from us] they use, and which ones they find the most useful? For example…

    1. documents which facilitate interoperability are Europeana Licensing Framework, the Europeana Publishing Framework, and the Europeana Data Model, Europeanan Data Exchange Agreement, policy for enrichments, provenance of data enrichments, policy for persistent identifiers)

    2. reuse of different types of high-quality data (rightsstaments.org; Europeana Public Domain Charter,  Metadata Usage Guidelines, the Public Domain Usage Guidelines)

    3. … offers individuals and institutions control over their data  (Data Quality Committee (DQC) and the Europeana Data Governance Stakeholder Group

    4. Impact playbook?

  3. Expert advice/resources [from elsewhere] they use, and which ones they find the most useful

  4. Tools [from us] they use, and which ones they find the most useful - cross-reference with those listed below
