Conditions for opt-out

When based on a licence, the rightsholder shall notify the collective management organisation including a notification that the owner is asserting his or her right and sufficient details of the work or other subject matter to enable it to be identified and removed from public display. The collective management organisation shall notify the cultural heritage institution within 2 weeks of receiving the request. When based on the exception, the rightsholder shall notify the cultural heritage institution including a notification that the owner is asserting his or her right and sufficient details of the work or other subject matter to enable it to be identified and removed from public display. 

The cultural heritage institution shall terminate the use of the work within 4 weeks of receiving the notification. The collective management organisation shall cease to issue new licences in relation to the work.
