Logos
The Europeana logo is used across our communications.
We aim for it to be instantly recognisable, so consistency is crucial. Please don’t change, distort, recolour, or reconfigure it.

Understanding the hierarchy of our logos
The Europeana Initiative has several groups and products in its portfolio. We aim to distinguish the organisation’s sub-brands, while simultaneously maintaining cohesion between them, as part of a single body (the Initiative).
Check our brand architecture structure to better understand the differences between our logos.
Note: Partners and projects have a brand of their own.
Main logo (Master brand)
Usage: Everyone
Refers: Europeana Initiative
The ‘Basic’ logo is used to refer to the Europeana Initiative rather than to one of its projects or products. The logo is either black or white. Please ensure that you pick the version that contrasts most strongly with the background so it remains readable.
Everyone can use these logos. This means that project partners and campaigns can use them in their own visual materials - if the exigencies here described are fulfilled.
This version is to be used in most of our communications (e.g. banners, social media posts, documents)
There are two variants for this logo, vertical and horizontal, each with its minimum margin to ensure full readability.
Products' logos
Usage: These logos should be used only on our products' platforms
Refers: Europeana Training, Europeana Metis, Europeana (.eu), Europeana Pro, Europeana APIs, Europeana data stats
The logo is solely available in its black and blue format. Please ensure that the background is lighter than these colors, to ensure contrast.
Download the Products' logos
You can download the SVG and PNG files.
Stakeholders' logos
Usage: Consult the person responsible for each organisation (e.g. Aggregators forum, Henning Scholz)
Refers: Europeana Aggregators' Forum, Europeana Network Association, Europeana Foundation
These three organisations together create what we call Europeana Initiative. The logos presented in this section are called “Organisations’ logos”, and should be used with the consent of the responsible for the organisations.
The logo is either black or white. Please ensure that you pick the version that contrasts most strongly with the background so it remains readable.
Communities' logos
Usage: Consult the person responsible for each community (e.g. Educators, Isabel Crespo)
Refers: Europeana Network Association communities (Climate action, Education and Research)
Within the Europeana Network Association, there are communities that work for specific themes in the organisation. Three of them have their own logos, the Climate Action, Educators and Researchers community. Make sure to use the correct logo for each group.

Logo misuse
Be careful not to misuse the logo. The logo should not be modified. Its orientation, color, and composition should remain as indicated in this document — there are no exceptions.
DON'T use the logo in images overloaded by details. Prioritize plain backgrounds.
DON'T change our logo’s color. Our official colors for the logo are black and white.
DON'T use the glyph as an icon. It must always have the “Europeana” name with it.
